Impact Wrestling on SpikeTV
Aired live from Orlando, Florida.

[Q1] Previously on Impact…

Sting and Hulk Hogan spoke backstage about Aces and Eights. Hogan told Sting to put a bullet in them and Sting said he'd be watching every match to determine who should lead the TNA team at BFG…

1. Mr. Anderson vs. Gunner (w/ Kid Kash). Gunner attacked early, but Anderson quickly turned the tables and went on the offensive.

Kash distracted Anderson on the floor and Gunner hit Anderson from behind. Gunner went to work wearing down Anderson's midsection. Anderson hit the Mic Check out of nowhere for the quick victory.

Mr. Anderson defeated Gunner in 2:26

Kash attacked Anderson after the match only to eat a Mic Check of his own…

Tara spoke with her boyfriend on the phone backstage. Gail Kim showed up and told her to get ready for their match. Tara was more concerned about setting up a double-date for after Bound For Glory. Kim said if Tara wins the Knockouts Championship, she's coming after her next… [C]

Ryan's Reaction: Decent opener that shook up the usual show format. Apparently Sting is already one of the two men defending TNA at Bound For Glory, which I feel could have been built up better throughout the show rather than just blurted out at the beginning.

[Q2] 2. Tara and Gail Kim vs. Miss Tessmacher and ODB. ODB dominated Kim to start. Tessmacher and ODB worked quick tags and kept the heels off their feet.

Kim and Tara managed to double-team ODB and they turned the tide in their favor. The heels continued to work over ODB. ODB eventually got the hot tag off to Tessmacher, who took out her opponents.

The finish came when Tara threw Kim into Tessmacher and followed with a Widow's Peak on Tessmacher for the pinfall victory…

Tara and Gail Kim defeated Miss Tessmacher and ODB in 4:43

Bruce Prichard had Al Snow sign some papers backstage… [C]

Ryan's Reaction: Pretty standard and solid booking here. Tara got some heat, showed she can pin the champion, and even furthered a potential future feud with Kim all in one finish. Well done.

A Video package covering the Al Snow vs. Joey Ryan feud aired…

[Q3] Snow made his entrance. Snow introduced Joey Ryan, who now has his own theme music. Snow recalled striking Ryan and gave a half-hearted apology. Ryan made him say he's sorry again. Snow obliged.

Ryan called Snow pathetic and claimed to manipulate Snow and the fans. Ryan said tonight is about him. Ryan brought up an agreement the two had come up with. Snow presented Ryan with a contract and Ryan gloated. Ryan made Snow turn around so he could sign his contract on Snow's back. Funny.

Snow smiled and told Ryan that he just signed a one-night contract for a match at Bound For Glory again Al Snow. Snow said he'd beat Ryan's ass in Phoenix…

Backstage, Kurt Angle told Sting that he could pull double duty at Bound For Glory and compete in both the tag title match and alongside Sting. Sting said he'd consider it. Bully Ray showed up and offered his hand in helping Sting because they screwed him out of the TNA Title at Bound For Glory. Sting told Ray to make something happen tonight… [C]

Ryan's Reaction: I'm not sold on Ryan yet. He's saying all the right things, but he's doing that odd yelling thing that people that don't pay attention to prowrestling do when they are trying to imitate a professional wrestler.

[Q4] 3. Samoa Joe vs. RVD for the TNA TV Title. The two men worked some mat-wrestling to start, but Joe quickly locked in a STF. RVD made the ropes and Joe went to work wearing down the challenger.

RVD connected with a pair of kicks and Rolling Thunder for a two count. RVD ran through his move set and pointed to himself like a jackass, which allowed Joe enough time to grab him and hit the Muscle Buster for the 1-2-3…

Samoa Joe defeated RVD in 4:32 to retain the TNA TV Title.

Backstage, AJ Styles argued with Chavo Guererro and Hernandez over last week's match. Christopher Daniels and Kazarian showed up and stirred the pot… [C]

Ryan's Reaction: Decent match, but RVD once again looks like an idiot for losing a match due to his showboating. I really hope this ends up going somewhere as it has made RVD look bad for months.

Dixie Carter's Bound For Glory memory included Sting winning the TNA Title. She said there are always major memories coming out of every Bound For Glory…

King Mo was shown arriving at the Impact Zone…

Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy spoke backstage briefly before Bully Ray showed up. Bully Ray challenged Jeff Hardy to a match later to prove that he belongs with Sting at Bound For Glory. Austin Aries got upset that Ray didn't challenge him. Hardy said that they should have a triple threat tonight. Ray agreed and Aries mouthed off that Hardy was booking his match…

[Q5] 4. Chavo Guererro (w/ Hernandez) vs. Kurt Angle (w/ AJ Styles). Chavo locked in an early headlock and held on for dear life. Angle fought out eventually but Chavo remained in control.

Angle battled back and choked Chavo in the corner. Angle went to work on Chavo's lower back. Chavo made his comeback and went for Three Amigos, but Angle reversed it into his rolling German suplexes. Angle went for the ankle lock but Chavo rolled through.

Chavo hit the Three Amigos and went up for the frog splash. Angle rolled out of the way and hit the Angle Slam. Hernandez distracted Angle and Chavo rolled Angle up for the pinfall victory…

Chavo Guererro defeated Kurt Angle in 6:33

Tenay and Taz continued to hype King Mo… [C]

Ryan's Reaction: That match was just odd. Both Chavo and Angle did heelish acts when they're supposed to be part of the two babyface teams trying to get the belts off of the heels at Bound For Glory.

5. Zema Ion vs. Douglas Williams for the X-Division Championship. Williams roughed up Ion to start, and the fight quickly spilled to the floor. Ion came back and locked in his modified armbar for the tapout victory.

Ion held onto the hold after the match and the referee reversed the decision.

Douglas Williams defeated Zema Ion via reversed decision in 1:14.

Ion cut a brief promo after the match about how he doesn’t want to help Sting at Bound For Glory. He then said his catchphrase…

[Q6] Tenay and Taz hyped the main event…

A video package hyping King Mo aired… [C]

Ryan's Reaction: It's too bad that TNA didn't do anything to make the X Division Championship feel important since Aries dropped it back at Destination X. They could have easily sold some extra buys if they gave the title attention and a feud that people cared about.

Bruce Prichard showed D-Lo Brown a video of Matt Morgan hitting the Carbon Footprint on a referee at a house show. Prichard told Brown to never let that happen again...

Ryan's Reaction: A blurry video on an iPad is one of the weakest ways to reintroduce someone possible.

James Storm made his entrance and said it's ten days to Bound For Glory. Ten days to the biggest night of his life and ten days to the one year mark of his feud with Bobby Roode. Storm turned his attention to King Mo. He put Mo over and he was interrupted by Bobby Roode.

Roode said he doesn’t care about King Mo and neither should Storm. Roode said Storm should focus on the fact that he's about to face a man he's never beaten and who he's been jealous of his entire career. Roode said it all comes to a head at Bound For Glory.

Roode said it isn't a match they will be having, it will be a fight. Roode said he intends to end Storm's career and said their fight will be a bloodbath. He warned King Mo to stay out of his way. Mo made his entrance in his robe and crown. Roode shoved him and Mo knocked Roode on his ass.

Mo finished his entrance. He got in Storm's face and Storm raised Mo's hand. The two shared a pair of beers…

Hogan showed Sting his pick backstage. Sting said he has his eye on Bully ray and wants to see what he's got tonight. Sting said he'd decide after he watches ray wrestle in the main event…

Ryan's Reaction: I get that TNA needs to get King Mo exposed, but I wish they didn't do it with this feud. Roode and Storm have never been able to feud without another person shoehorned into their rivalry, and I had hoped that they would finally get that opportunity at Bound For Glory. As it stands, King Mo is more the focus of this match than their rivalry is.

[Q7] [C] A video package covering Aces and Eights aired…

Joseph Park was tortured briefly before Bane Jr. told the camera that every member of Aces and Eights is ready to die for the brotherhood. They then went back to torturing Park…

Tenay and Taz went right into hyping Bound For Glory…

Ryan's Reaction: I know when I see a colleague getting tortured, I feel the need to cut a promo. Aces and Eights have jumped the shark for me and this over-the-top crap is killing my suspension of disbelief.

The participants of the main event made their entrances…

[Q8] [C] 5. Bully Ray vs. Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy. The match was joined in progress and Hardy hit Ray with a suplex. Ray threw Hardy into the steel post and Aries attacked Ray.

Hardy hit a Twist of fate and Swanton Bomb on Ray. Aries threw Hardy out of the ring and locked in the Last Chancery on Ray hardy broke the hold and the two men argued before Ray took both guys out.

Aries attempted to hit a brainbuster on ray but Ray raked his eyes. Ray hit the Bully Bomb on Hardy for the pinfall victory…

Bully Ray defeated Jeff Hardy and Austin Aries in 3:36 of TV time.

Aries bickered with Hardy after the match…

Sting and Hogan left Hogan's offense and started heading to the ring…

Ryan's Reaction: Odd match. They cut out the majority of the contest by having it happen during the commercial, so we were only able to see the end of the match.

Sting and Hogan made their entrances. Hogan said things were personal between him and Aces and Eights. He said Aces and Eights had to deal with Sting and Sting needed a partner. Hogan ran through the possibilities and said that he and Sting agreed on Mr. Anderson to be Sting's partner. Hogan called out Anderson.

Anderson's music played, but the camera cut to Anderson getting a beat down courtesy of Aces and Eights. Bully Ray ran out and got in Hogan's face saying that they should have picked him. Ray appealed to Sting and said if Sting is going to war, he needs a warrior. Ray said he is that warrior and he wants this.

Ray convinced Sting and he offered Hogan his hand. Hogan eventually agreed and shook Ray's hand.

Ryan's Reaction: Screw that TNA crowd. Ray was giving one of the best promos of his career and he was treated with "We want Devon" chants. If I have to guess, I imagine Ray is an Aces and Eights plant that will help the group win at Bound For Glory and lead to next year's faction war. Overall, I am still underwhelmed by this year's Bound For Glory. They're pushing it like it should be pushed, but there's not a single card on the match that I am excited for. Hopefully TNA can sway me next week, but right now it feels like just another PPV.
