Samoa Joe made the following comments regarding his contract status with TNA during Thursday's Spike TV/TNA conference call: "Honestly, the end all contractual status with me and TNA right now is actually legitimately is that we're still at an impasse. I'm coming close to the end date with my contract with them. Honestly, we're still just working out a lot of details.

"It's a very long and involved process. I want to make sure I get the best out of it. TNA wants to make sure they get the best out of it. It's just because... mainly just how busy the schedule has been. We've been adding a lot of house shows. It's been tough to kind of sit down and get all the parties involved to kind of get things hammered out to make things final. Hopefully it will be over with soon."

Powell's POV: This contradicts what many people from within the company have been saying. However, Dot Net reported nearly two months ago that this is what sources close to the situation were hearing. If Joe was shooting straight on this matter, then he would become the hottest free agent in the business when his original contract expires in June.
