TNA News: Jim Cornette takes verbal jabs at TNA and head writer Vince Russo
Oct 11, 2009 - 11:39 AM |
Jim Cornette told Alex Marvez of Scripps News that he was "embarrassed" to work for TNA and with head writer Vince Russo. "It was sad, disappointing and depressing to watch," Cornette said. "We didn't have as many pay-per-view buys as we should and nobody was getting over (i.e., becoming popular with the fans). He's the only booker I've ever seen who gets people under...
"The matches are made meaningless so Russo can see his comedic lines and dramatic scripting spring to life," Cornette said. "There's a bunch of great athletes, but they're not very good actors. They're even worse comedians." To read the full interview, visit SrippsNews.com.
Powell's POV: Cornette ripping Russo and TNA is no surprise. However, it's only fair to acknowledge that fan interest in the ROH product he praised in the interview isn't exactly peaking these days.
