Dot Net TNA News: Notes on the decision to release backstage agent Jim Cornette, the likely replacements for the open agents positions
Sep 17, 2009 - 11:01 AM

As reported in the Dot Net Daily audio show on Friday, Jim Cornette had been on the bubble when it came to his employment with the company. He had been vocal about the creative direction and specifically questioned why the company was pushing Eric Young. Cornette was fired on Tuesday, and all sources feel that the move was made because he was butting heads with creative team member Vince Russo.

Powell's POV: We've been telling Dot Net Members for weeks that Cornette and B.G. James were on the bubble, and we reported the news regarding Cornette's frustration over Young's push before others started reporting it as a new story yesterday. We've also been reporting for weeks that Dixie Carter has her eyes on former agents D-Lo Brown and Pat Kenney (a/k/a Simon Diamond) as replacements for Cornette and James.

No official announcement has been made regarding Brown or Kenney, but insiders continue to say that they could start as early as this weekend. Kenney will be a tougher hire because he has insisted that he receive some type of assurance that Jeff Jarrett will not regain power, as he believes Jarrett was the reason his contract was not renewed last year.
