Dot Net TNA News: Dixie Carter takes more control and throws a party, but irks some wrestlers
Aug 27, 2009 - 02:08 PM

Dixie Carter was praised by many for being more authoritative than ever at last week's television events in Orlando. There was a meeting held before one of the television tapings in which she announced the new three-year television deal with Spike TV, and a big party held later that night.

However, Carter also rubbed some wrestlers the wrong way during the meeting. She gave a pep talk regarding the need for in-ring improvement. Despite the fact that she's the owner, some wrestlers felt as though she was speaking out of turn because she's never been in the ring, while others felt her intentions were good and the mission statement was essentially that the veterans should work with the younger wrestlers.

Powell's POV: The feeling of those who were bothered by her comments was that Carter has every right to feel that way as the owner of the company, but she would have been better off having an agent or someone else in power with in-ring experience deliver that message for her. There are many people who still feel it would be wise for her to put someone in charge of the wrestling side of the operation, a position that Jeff Jarrett held until he was sent home recently. Nevertheless, morale was up at the tapings due to the Spike TV mood.
