TNA News: Austin Aries and Christy Hemme incident on Impact Wrestling TV show
May 13, 2013 - 03:42 PM

TNA wrestler Austin Aries is under fire for climbing to the second rope, putting his crotch in front of ring announcer Christy Hemme's face during Thursday's Impact Wrestling television show. Hemme incorrectly introduced Bad Influence when Aries and Bobby Roode were making their entrance.

Aries went to the ring, backed Hemme into a corner, and had his crotch in her face while she delivered the corrected introduction. Hemme was asked about the incident on Twitter and wrote that it was "unacceptable."

Meanwhile, Aries wrote the following on his Twitter page on Saturday: "Pretty nuts, some of the junk people get the balls to say over the net, knowing they couldn't to your face...Eh, anyway, time to sack out." You can view footage of the incident at Youtube.com/watch?v=flx9jXo2Ock. [Thanks to Dot Net readers Agahzi and Jay W.]

Powell's POV: I originally assumed she was shrugging off the incident after reading Austin's comments on Twitter, as I didn't think he would be so brazen if there was any heat over the matter. However, I asked a TNA source if Hemme was bothered by the incident and was told:

"Of course, she was. How would you react? It's one thing if that was set up as a work earlier in the day, and even then our girls would have to reassure our agents over and over again that they would be okay with that spot before it got approved for television." The source added the opinion that Hemme was "technically sexually harassed." At this point, TNA has yet to comment publicly on the matter and there's no word yet as to whether Aries and Hemme have discussed the matter.
