TNA Bound For Glory Fanfest in Chicago: Full recap with thoughts on which wrestlers were friendly and those who were not so friendly
Oct 12, 2008 - 11:32 AM |
Dot Net Member "Array" attended the TNA Fanfest in Chicago on Saturday and filed the following report.
First, everyone there seemed to have a real good time. It was organized about as well as possible. They had a lot of people, but they kept it within reason. They could have packed plenty more into the conference room. They left enough room so that it was comfortable. Only people with prepaid tickets got in. Jeremy Borash said they turned walkups away. Everyone announced was there. The only person on the PPV that wasn't there was Kip James (no big loss).
I got up to most of the tables. The only big names I didn't were Jeff Jarrett, Team 3D, and Christian Cage. They started right at 11 and went until a little after 3:30. They had three shifts. Each were about one-and-a-half hours. In my opinion LAX, Jay Lethal, Booker T, and Sharmell were having the most fun with fans. Booker T was really turning it up when little kids were coming up. LAX was joking around with everyone they seemed real happy to be there. Lethal was totally in character.
The only ones who came off as dicks were the Motor City Machine Guns. They just signed it and handed it back to people while they talked to each other. Looked like they couldn't wait to leave. Everyone else tried to say at least a couple of words with each person if not more.
Dixie Carter was walking around talking to anyone that wanted to. I just shook her hand and had her sign my program. I tried to scan and attach a copy of the sheet from today that showed everyone and what table they were at. Also prices for photos and pictures. I had a picture with Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, and Sting, and Booker.
Sting and Foley each stayed for a session and a half. Consequences Creed was in session one. Afterward, he went over to an area where they had four TVs with the Impact video game on them and played with fans for the rest of the afternoon. You couldn't really talk to Sting very much because he had such a long line that Simon Diamond and the Red Rooster (Terry Taylor) were pushing everyone through quickly.
Powell's POV: I'd like to hear from other fans who attended the Fanfest. I'm curious to know whether Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were like this all day long or if our reader just happened to catch them at the wrong time. Check back tonight for my "Live Coverage" report of the TNA Bound For Glory pay-per-view. You can watch along with me or just check in for results as they happen.
