TNA president Dixie Carter comments on the timing of taking the Impact Wrestling television show on the road Mar 26, 2013 - 01:15 PM
TNA president Dixie Carter appeared on Brandon Baxter's radio show on Tuesday to promote Thursday's TNA Impact Wrestling event in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Carter was asked why the company opted to take the Impact Wrestling television show on the road. "It's really a business decision," Carter said. "It just came down that. You have to be able to financially be able to go on the road. It costs a tremendous amount of money, just one day. You're flying in a couple hundred people from all over the country and it's just a very expensive proposition.
"I take the livelihood of our talent and staff very seriously. Every night I put my head down on my pillow I think about those families and being in business ten years from now, twenty years from now, so I didn't want to make a decision we weren't going to be able to back up with the right kind of success. So we just felt like based upon a lot of different signals and a lot of different business things that were going on that this was the time to do it." Powell's POV: Carter also spoke about the first time she met Jeff Jarrett, the Knockouts Division, the stars of the future, and more. She said she feels TNA has the best talent roster in the industry and still feels the storytelling they are doing now is better than they have ever done and is the best thing going today.
