Bubba the Love Sponge stated on his radio show and claimed that TNA legend Hulk Hogan may have played a role in the release of the sex video. Bubba made it clear that he and Hogan are no longer friends. He also claimed that Hogan is "self-centered" and convinced himself that his son Nick Hogan was innocent in his car accident, Brooke Hogan has talent, and that Linda Hogan is a "whore."

Bubba also claimed that he's never seen the sex tape. "I'm gonna be honest with you," Bubba said. "I have not seen the tape ... include me supposedly bragging and being a horse's ass" - a reference to Bubba telling his ex-wife they could sell the tape and retire. "I can't even comment on the validity," Bubba said. "[Hulk] could have had something to do with the leak of it."
