Mick Foley comments on his jump from WWE to TNA, says he'll wrestle "if things go well"
Sep 10, 2008 - 01:15 AM

Mick Foley appeared on the Between The Ropes radio show on Tuesday to discuss his jump from WWE to TNA. He said he was surprised and flattered that he was removed from the Legends of WrestleMania video game and that his bio was pulled from the WWE website alumni page. He explained that it was somewhat flattering because WWE must see his departure as a big deal if they're going through all this trouble.

Foley also confirmed Dot Net reports that he got lost on his way to the ring at Friday night's TNA house show. "I was just going to come out and wave and not necessarily say anything, but once I realized that I'd passed Earl Hebner twice, I realized that I better say something," he said. "It was a little strange, but it has to get better from there."

The subject of Vince McMahon yelling at him on commentary came up and Foley said it didn't have a positive affect on his announcing. "I went from thinking about the job almost all the time to not thinking about it at all," he said. "I really thought my performance was suffering. There were some weeks where I was a little embarrassed because I hadn't done my homework."

Foley also stated that he's open to the idea of a long-term relationship with TNA. "It's short-term now, but it could lead to something long-term down the road depending on how we each like working with the other," he said. Foley added that there's a good chance he'll end up working a match for TNA. "I think if things go well, you'll eventually see me in the ring," he said. Powell's POV: Good interview. Foley was on the show for nearly an hour and the only question he avoided answering was when he'll make his first on-air appearance for TNA. He started reading the internet recently and so he addresses some of the things he's been reading about himself, including a Dot Net report about Triple H referring to him as "Homeless Harry" and doing subtle things to damper Vince's enthusiasm for his creative contributions. The Foley interview starts about an hour into the show and is highly recommended.
