TNA News: King Mo Lawal notes regarding how he intends to work for TNA and Bellator Fighting Championships
Sep 10, 2012 - 02:18 PM

Bellator Fighting Championships CEO Bjorn Rebney spoke with MMA Junkie about King Mo Lawal's role with his company and TNA Wrestling. "He's got an electrifying personality, and he's the perfect guy that Dixie (Carter) and I have been looking for literally for the last year to fill both of those spots," Rebney said.

"He calls me once or twice a week to talk about what's going on in Impact – he knows more about the history of Impact than probably most of the people that are currently in Impact. He's awesome."

Rebney also noted that he expects Lawal to debut for TNA in October. "I would say in an ideal situation, he'll be able to bounce – literally be able to do 'Impact,' do his first fight for Bellator, maybe take a little bit of time to do an 'Impact' taping, then come back and do another fight for Bellator," he said.

"But we'll see. It's never been done. Brock (Lesnar) did one, then did the other, then went back and do the other. But no one's ever done both at the same time as hyper-intensively as he will." Powell's POV: Lawal hasn't been able to train because he was battling an infection he acquired while undergoing surgery on his left knee. He has also provided the same October timeline for his TNA debut, and one can only assume he'll be involved in Bound For Glory in some capacity. He is expected to have his first Bellator fight in January when the group debuts on Spike TV. Thanks to Dot Net Member Rich Conner for passing along the story.
