Dot Net Exclusive: TNA and Team 3D contract update: Is WWE interested in bringing back the former Dudleys?
Aug 20, 2008 - 12:05 PM

TNA and Team 3D are still in the process of negotiating a new deal that they hope to finalize before the duo's contracts expire next month. TNA officials feel confident Brother Ray and Devon will re-sign, and that seems like a strong possibility since WWE officials don't seem to have much interest in bringing them back.

Although Devon is well liked in WWE circles, Brother Ray rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Devon is guilty by association," a source noted yesterday. "No one in WWE has any ill will or bad feelings toward Devon, but Bubba (a/k/a Brother Ray) is a detriment to his career." The biggest knock against Ray is that he has a reputation for taking liberties with young talent.

Powell's POV: The Dudleys would definitely add something to the WWE tag team division. However, they'd be working with younger teams such as Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, Zach Ryder and Curt Hawkins, or John Morrison and The Miz, and the feeling is that Ray would eat those teams up. It's worth noting that Randy Orton ripped Ray in a recent interview with WrestleCast over the way Ray treated him when he was breaking in.
