Dot Net Exclusive notes: Scott Steiner medical update, James Mitchell's departure
Jul 11, 2008 - 11:00 AM |
-Scott Steiner acquired an infection related to his recent surgery to repair a torn ACL, as reported on the Dot Net Members' website yesterday. There is some concern that he could miss additional time as a result of the infection.
-All TNA sources state that James Mitchell's release from the company was strictly the result of the creative team not having anything for him.
Powell's POV: Steiner deserves a break from the medical issues. He's battled back problems for years and suffered a serious throat injury while working a match in Puerto Rico around this time last year. Now the poor guy is battling an infection he acquired during surgery, which can be an incredibly painful experience.
As for Mitchell, it still amazes me that TNA's creative team can't think outside the box and overhaul his character so that he can manage something other than monsters. That being said, the buzz is that there's no heat between him and management and most sources don't believe we've seen the last of him in TNA.
Dot Net members received the first look at the Steiner news yesterday. They currently have access to Jason Powell's latest news update blog and audio update, a member exclusive message board, the ability to write their own Dot Net blogs, and more.
