TNA News: Jeff Jarrett says the company is going through a transitional period with its name, lists the best wrestler in the world, and says he had nothing to do with the decision to abandon the six-sided ring
Sep 2, 2011 - 05:19 PM

TNA star Jeff Jarrett spoke with Chris Van Vilet of WOIO-TV in Cleveland regarding TNA’s attempt at relaunching a Monday Night War with WWE. "We would have never known if we hadn’t tried," Jarrett said. He cited Spike TV’s smaller market share compared to USA and the fact that Raw was live and Impact was taped as reasons for the low ratings.

While Jarrett is the founder of TNA Wrestling, he claims he wasn’t involved with the removal of the six-sided ring, and that it is "near and dear to his heart."

Jarrett also cleared up some confusion about whether the company is called TNA Wrestling or Impact Wrestling, saying they are "in a transition period" and for now it’s "a little bit of both."

Jeff Jarrett said that despite their history, Kurt Angle is the best wrestler in the world, and there is no animosity between them. To view the full interview, visit Youtube.com.

Powell's POV: Eric Young was interviewed along with Jarrett and said he had no idea there were plans to go back to the four-sided ring. He showed up to work one day and the six-sided ring was gone. Young also agreed that Angle is the best wrestler in the world. Hopefully that will help Angle get over WWE not ranking him higher on their list.

As for the name, if it's being labeled a transitional period, then one can only assume that it will eventually shift from the old name of TNA to Impact Wrestling. Thanks also to Charles C. for passing along the video.
