Dot Net Exclusive notes: Kurt Angle injury, Bobby Lashley to TNA buzz
May 14, 2008 - 11:49 AM

-Kurt Angle stated during the pay-per-view that his doctor advised him not to wrestle on the show, and sources say that was legitimately the case. He at least considered going against doctors orders throughout the weekend, but ultimately all parties involved felt that him sitting out was the best move. Multiple sources report that TNA officials spoke directly with Angle's surgeon regarding his diagnosis.

The working plan at the tapings continues to be for Angle to wrestle A.J. Styles at the Slammiversary. There are some in the company who are concerned that Angle will try to gut his way through the match even if he's not ready, and the hope is that management will continue to look out for his best interests even if he's not willing to do so himself.

-There was no major buzz backstage about the possibility of Bobby Lashley signing with the company. Nevertheless, office members are hopeful that he signs because they see him as another big name with star power. Lashley has also been talking with the NWE promotion that is running shows in Spain (including Ultimate Warrior's return match) and Mexico's AAA promotion.

Powell's POV: Angle was in noticeable pain at the house show events that led up to the pay-per-view, but observers said he looked like he was feeling much better at the Impact tapings. One can only hope that TNA will think long-term by erring on the side of caution when it comes to his in-ring return.

Lashley has done some MMA training, but Angle and Booker T have been doing their best to recruit him for TNA. Angle has sounded very confident in radio interviews about the odds of bringing him into the fold. Then again, Kurt also said there was a chance that Lashley was going to debut on the live Impact show even though he was contractually unable to do so. Nevertheless, most sources assume it's only a matter of time before he joins TNA.
