TNA News: Kevin Nash comments on how much longer he plans to wrestle, influential wrestlers
Sep 2, 2010 - 02:14 PM

TNA star Kevin Nash was asked by actor Booboo Stewart how much longer he intends to wrestle. "I am one injury away from another rehab stint, but then I am sure I would come back again haha," Nash said. "Right now, I feel better than I have in about 5 or 6 years. I’ve lost a ton of weight and feel great. I don’t see myself stopping right now. I would stop when it stops being fun. I still get nervous when I haven’t wrestled in a while, but once I get going, I’m back into it."

Nash was also asked to name the most influential wrestler of all time. "To me as a wrestler, the first guy that took me under his wing was Rick Rude," Nash said. "He taught me and was the first guy I watched that looked at it from an entertainment standpoint. He mastered the art of getting the fans to laugh and then boo him. All I could think when watching him was, 'wow that’s how it’s done.'

"I was also a huge Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania fan. While we are only a few years apart in age, I always enjoyed watching him. If you are asking who the most influential wrestler of all times is to the business as a whole, I would say it’s not necessarily a single wrestler. Hulk and Hulkamania started it and the Monday Night Wars made wrestling even bigger." To read the full interview, visit TNAwrestling.com.

Powell's POV: Nash turned 51 in July, yet it sounds like he has no plans of hanging up the boots anytime soon. Don't shoot the messenger. Younger fans who have not seen the greatness that was Rude should head to Youtube.com immediately to see some of his in-ring and mic work. Great performer.
