Dot Net Exclusive: Update on the TNA wrestlers pulled from the Impact tapings
Apr 17, 2008 - 01:27 PM

The wrestlers who were pulled from the TNA Impact tapings late last week have nothing to worry about, according to a company source. The general feeling is that they had too many wrestlers at the pay-per-view and they realized they didn't need that many wrestlers for television once the shows were written for the taping.

There was some frustration and concern with some of the wrestlers because they were originally scheduled to appear at the tapings, only to be pulled late last week. The source explained that the scripts for the shows were turned in later than usual because it was a pay-per-view week and thus the creative team had to write three shows rather than two.

Powell's POV: The source I spoke with stressed that there was no talk of cutting talent at the tapings and "no one is getting buried" by the creative staff. In other words, this was simply a numbers issue and I suspect most, if not all, of those wrestlers will be back at the next tapings. It was also stressed to me that this is not a sign that the company intends to cut back on their comedy acts.
