TNA News: Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart appear on Don Imus - Hogan comments on Vince McMahon vs. John Cena, addresses Ric Flair's wife allegedly attacking him, says he no longer uses steroids (video footage available)
Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart appeared on the Don Imus show on Thursday to hype TNA Impact moving to Monday nights. Hart spoke about creating the "American Made" theme song for Hogan. Hulk spoke about losing most of his money. "I chose the high road and chose to go back to work," Hogan said.
Hulk said he had the option of going back to WWE via the 20-year merchandising deal that Vince McMahon offered him. Hogan said he met with Dixie Carter and felt they were going places. He said he had a chance to get in TNA and help put out a better product. "We're going in there and slowly but surely, we're fighting this big monster."
Hogan noted that tonight's TNA Impact show is the final Thursday night broadcast. He said the Monday night battle is good for the business. Imus asked about Hogan working with Ric Flair on Monday. Hogan was quick to mention the names of their partners Abyss and A.J. Styles. Imus asked about Flair's wife "whooping him." Hogan responded that if Flair's wife can whoop him, so can he.
"Even though they say they're not worried about us and all of that, Vince is coming out from behind the desk to wrestle John Cena, their main star." Imus asked Hogan if he took steroids in the past. He admitted he did. Imus asked if Hogan still takes steroids. Hogan said he does not because he's been reeducated. He said he hasn't suffered any medical issues because of steroid use "because I didn't abuse them." You can watch both video clips at FoxBusiness.com.
Powell's POV: It was nice to hear Hogan go out of his way to mention Styles and Abyss in this interview. For what it's worth, the "steroids" question is dated for wrestlers in the sense that mainstream hosts would be better off asking if pro wrestlers and mainstream athletes are using HGH or other performance enhancing drugs.
