Although TNA Impact will air in HD on Oct. 23, the company will not offer its pay-per-view events in that format. TNA spokesman Steven Godfrey told Dot Net that there is a plan in the works for pay-per-views to eventually air in HD, but now just the television show will air in HD on Spike TV.
Powell's POV: It's too bad they're not ready to make the conversion on pay-per-view, but it wouldn't matter for this viewer. My local cable company doesn't offer WWE pay-per-view event in HD even though WWE launched pay-per-view in HD for WrestleMania. For that matter, my cable company doesn't offer Spike TV in HD yet. Yes, I'm looking forward to informing my giant cable company that I'm switching to DirecTV later this month.
