Jack Foley, the father of TNA star Mick Foley, died on Monday at age 76 after a long illness. "I remember being with my dad at all the sporting events at Ward Melville, Suffolk County and across part of New York State," Mick told Newsday regarding his father, who worked as a high school athletic director until retiring 19 years ago.

"I thought everybody's father was a beloved fixture of the community. As I got older, I was able to appreciate what a special person my father was. How lucky we were to have him as our father." To read the full obituary, visit Newsday.com.

Powell's POV: My deepest condolences to the Foley family. The obituary also notes that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope House Ministries in Port Jefferson, the Special Olympics or the United Way.
