TNA has reportedly replaced Vince Russo as the lead writer of the Impact Wrestling product, according to WrestleZone.com. Former WWE creative team member Dave Lagana has taken over Russo's duties on the creative team.

Powell's POV: At this point, I don't believe the "head of creative" title used in the story is accurate given that Bruce Prichard was promoted to the position of senior vice president of programming and talent relations back in October 2011, and Russo had been reporting to him.

Russo is not backstage at the Against All Odds pay-per-view in Orlando, whereas Lagana is at the show, according to a backstage source. Lagana was hired by TNA late last year to serve in a similar capacity on the Ring Ka King creative staff. He worked for WWE and Ring of Honor in the past. No formal announcement has been made to the talent and crew at the Against All Odds pay-per-view as of this update.

Lagana seemed to acknowledge that something was up earlier today when he tweeted, "And we are off and running" and then "The calm before the storm." He had been adamant since he joined the company that he was merely hired to work on the Ring Ka King project and was not involved on the Impact Wrestling side of things.
