A representative of Ric Flair told TMZ that the TNA legend is considering taking legal action against Grantland.com due to the website's claim that he has suffers from Alcoholic Cardiomyopathy.

"While the information gleaned from courthouse records may be credible, Mr. Fliehr is currently evaluating his legal options with respect to falsehoods in the story, specifically the untrue statement that he suffers from alcoholic cardiomyopathy," the rep stated.

"Our client understands that these allegations are part of the territory when you are not only famous, but a living legend." To read the full story, go to TMZ.com.

Powell's POV: If Flair does not suffer from the heart condition, then he has grounds to pursue legal action. At the same time, it seems like the new way for celebrities to counter negative publicity is to publicly deny claims and threaten a lawsuit only to never follow through. We'll continue to follow the story. For those who haven't read the original piece, visit Grantland.com.
