Ric Flair appeared on ESPNEWS on Monday to discuss Aaron Rodgers wearing a replica of the World Hvt. Championship title belt. The host of the show noted that the belt is "most closely associated with Ric Flair." Flair said the belt was presented to him in 1985 by Jim Crockett. He mentioned that the belt replaced the NWA Title that he wore previously.

A graphic on the screen noted that Flair begain his career in 1972, and noted that he wrestled for the AWA, NWA, WCW, WWE, and TNA. Flair raved about the play of Rodgers, and also noted his relationship with Packers linebackers coach Kevin Greene. Flair said he called WWE and spoke with two company officials who sent a pair of title belts to Greene, who gave one to the tight ends for beating the linebackers in a drill, and the other went to Rodgers.

Flair said he lost a $100 wager to TNA Champion Ken Anderson. Flair said he was pulling for the Packers, but made the bet with Anderson because he's such a big fan of the Packers. Flair "wooooo'd" per the hosts request at the end of the segment.

Powell's POV: Greene worked for WCW as a wrestler when he was still playing for the Carolina Panthers. WWE and TNA got some love on the show thanks to Flair and the graphics. He also put over the two WWE employees he put over by saying with a laugh that they actually run the company "unbeknownst to Vince McMahon." A good appearance for Flair. If you missed it, you can probably catch a replay throughout the day on ESPNEWS.
