TNA has announced that it will be holding only four pay-per-view events in 2013. "The 52 annual episodes of Impact Wrestling will lead to four, epic pay-per-view events commencing with Genesis January 13, Lockdown March 10, Slammiversary June 9, and Bound For Glory October 13," reads a press release.

"The Pay-Per-View industry has changed so much in the last decade," Dixie Carter stated in a press release. "The traditional Pay-Per-View wrestling model needed to evolve and we believe this strategy will positively impact not only the Pay-Per-View events but the weekly television programming as well."

Powell's POV: This explains why TNA is taping a pair of three-hour shows this weekend, as they are still going to supply international markets with programming that would normally feature the pay-per-views. It's a good move for TNA to reduce the number of pay-per-view events, as it was obviously a money loser. If they do their jobs well, they can make the four events feel like major events and thus profitable.
