TNA star and gold medalist Kurt Angle responded to the International Olympic Committee voting to drop wrestling from the Olympics from the 2020 Summer Games. "We’re going to fight this," Angle told Fox Sports. "They can’t just drop it. They’re keeping badminton and that sport where you jump on a trampoline, and they’re dropping wrestling. It’s just crazy. I don’t know what this world is coming to. Things are changing." Read more on the story at FoxSports.com. [Thanks to Dot Net Member Efren]

Powell's POV: As much as I think it would be crazy to drop wrestling from the games, I also feel that if everyone who is suddenly outraged on social media had actually watched the sport during Olympic broadcasts then this wouldn't be an issue right now. Here's hoping the end result is that wrestling won't be dropped and that all of the media attention this is getting will result in increased popularity of the sport.
