TNA wrestler Kurt Angle issued his first public comments on his arrest early Friday morning in North Dakota for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. "Thank you to my supporters," Angle wrote. "I was not drunk. I was in ice storm and my car slid into three feet of snow median.

"I called police for help. They had other plans. I was stuck and wanted to go to my hotel. I was not passed out drunk. I was coherent. I'm sorry if I let you down. Don't believe everything you read. My life is good and this is a speed bump in the road. The truth will come out.

"God bless. I take responsibility for this. My job is to stay clean and never put myself in jeopardy. TMZ blew it out of proportion. After my hearings, I will give you proper story." To read more from Angle, follow him at Twitter.com/AngleFoods1.

Powell's POV: Angle has his side of the story, but I'm not sure how he can claim that TMZ blew the story out of proportion. Unless I'm missing something, TMZ simply reported the facts of the case. It's the police officers who smelled alcohol on his breath and arrested him after he failed a field sobriety test. You can judge for yourself by reading their report at TMZ.com.
