TNA Champion Jeff Hardy will enter a negotiated plea when he returns to court on January 20, his lawyer told ThePilot.com. "We anticipate a resolution of this matter in January," attorney James Van Camp stated.

Meanwhile, District Attorney Maureen Kruger stated that Hardy will plead guilty to one or more of the drug charges he faces. She confirmed that the plea agreement includes a sentencing arrangement. The story notes that the plea could potentially be rejected by the judge.

Powell's POV: The possibility of the judge declining the plea agreement seems slim. It remains to be seen what the sentence will be and whether it will include any jail time. Hardy has failed WWE's Wellness Policy tests in the past, but I'm not aware of him having an actual criminal record. If he is a first time offender, it's possible he will avoid jail time.
