New TNA star Desmond Wolfe disputed the widespread reports that medical issues prevented WWE from signing him. "I had a clean bill of health from my orthopaedic guy and my local doctor, so it's not about that," Wolfe told the Daily Star. "I don’t hold against anything against them, it was a business decision, and they were only doing what they think is best for them."
He also commented on his new name. "Everyone is asking me where I got the name from - someone said Withnail and I - but Vince (Russo) said he did an internet search of the most popular British names and came up with Desmond Wolfe!" To read the full story, visit DailyStar.co.uk.
Powell's POV: Interesting interview. I've heard the same story about Nigel failing a prescreening exam as other reputable news sites. WWE will never comment on the matter given that it's a medical issue are there are privacy issues. As for the name, I still believe it will grow on people and no one will think twice about it a few months from now.
