Hulk Hogan had a lot to say in an interview with Slam! Wrestling. The following items are among the highlights of the interview.

Hogan on his position in TNA: "It's a creative executive position ... Jan. 4, we're going head to head with WWE," says Hogan. "We've got to pick a fight. I don't know what's going to happen that night..."

Twill's Two Cents: Jason and I spoke in depth during Dot Net Weekly about what exactly Hogan would do in TNA and whether or not we thought he would actually be booking the show. I'm guessing "Creative Executive" just means he will have final say as to what goes on the air.

Hogan on what he hopes to accomplish in TNA: "I want to make the characters come alive. Characters like Andre the Giant and Rowdy Roddy Piper were larger than life. That's what I want. TNA is doing a lot of things right. They have a lot of great talent."

Twill's Two Cents: Hogan also mentioned WCW going head to head with WWE and that it took them a couple of years to overtake WWE in the ratings. Jimmy Hart said in a recent interview that Hogan wanted to take an old school approach and Hogan alluded to that here. He also talked about wrestlers needing writers to tell them what to say and that the good ones should not need the writers.

Hogan on whether he plans to wrestle: "Right now there are no plans to put the yellow boots on, but sometimes the fans will box you in ... they could start yelling Hogan vs. Sting ... and then maybe we have to do something about it. Contractually it's not part of the plan, but it's still there. When I start Hulking up, the places are on fire."

Twill's Two Cents: It seems like Hogan is content to stay out of the ring for now, but if he decides to wrestle, I would predict a long buildup and a match at Bound For Glory, perhaps against Sting or Ric Flair.

Hogan on WWE talent reaching out to him: "There are a lot of major WWE stars burning my phone up, asking if they can work for TNA when their contracts are up."

Twill's Two Cents: This would be intriguing if it was true. I'm not sure which major stars would be interested in jumping, but I could see some midcard guys make the move once their contracts are up. It would be huge for TNA if one of those calls Hogan received was from Jim Ross.

Other topics include Hogan nearly committing suicide until he got a call from Laila Ali, what he will do if WWE kills TNA in the ratings on January 4th, and his thoughts on the real vs. fake argument.
