As we broke earlier today on the Dot Net Members' website, TNA is planning to tape a special edition of Impact on Aug. 9 in Orlando, Fla. The show will be positioned as the equivalent of a free pay-per-view, and the working title is "The Whole Fn' Show." The current plan is to feature a pay-per-view caliber lineup of matches minus promos and vignettes. The TNA wrestlers will be featured on the show, which will air in its usual Thursday night time slot on Spike TV.

Powell's POV: I guess this is TNA's way of making up for the fact that they will not have a regular pay-per-view in August, as the show the night before will be dedicated to the former ECW talent. I love the idea of a stripped down show that focusses on the in-ring product. It will be interesting to see how this show performs in the ratings compared to the usual Impact format, which tend to be heavy on promos and vignettes.
