Dot Net Exclusive: Update on TNA’s desire to produce more live television shows

TNA and Spike TV officials continue to discuss the possibility of airing Impact live every other week. Although the show will air live for the first time on March 27, one TNA office worker told Prowrestling.net that future lives broadcasts “are not likely until June or later.” TNA officials continue to push the idea of moving the shows to Monday nights for a head-to-head showdown with Raw.

Powell’s POV: The ratings for the March 27 show could be crucial to the company’s push for additional live shows and/or the move the Monday nights. Although moving the show to Wednesday would make it easier to hold live shows and keep the weekends open for house shows and talent bookings, I was told that no such discussions have taken place. Although the Thursday television lineup features the most popular shows the networks have to offer, the feeling is that it's easier to get sampled, particularly when the networks are airing reruns, because there are more people watching television that night than any other night.
