Sting was not at the TNA television tapings this week because he is in the midst of negotiating a new contract, according to multiple sources. The buzz backstage was that he would not return to television until his contractual situation is resolved.

Powell's POV: I believe Sting's contract expires at the end of the year and the two sides are trying to work out the terms of an extension, but the sources I spoke with did not have firsthand knowledge regarding the terms of his deal of the contract talks. Sting did appear for the company at Sunday's pay-per-view.

It will be interesting to see whether Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett are on the same page as far as the Sting negotiations go this time around. They butted heads last year around this time because Jarrett didn't feel Sting was worth the type of money that Carter was willing to pay him.
