Dot Net Exclusive: Sabin and Shelley have heat for refusing to blade among other things
Feb 15, 2008 - 10:42 AM |
|
Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are not in good graces with TNA management. “They both like to talk a lot for two guys who haven’t really done anything in this business,” said one office source. Furthermore, the source acknowledged that one of the reasons the duo is in the doghouse is because they refused to do blade jobs when they and Jay Lethal were attacked by Team 3D and Johnny Devine in a recent Impact angle. There are rumors that the duo was recently fined by the office and some people believe it was over the blading issue. Yet while the source did acknowledge there is tension over the blading issue among other things, he was not aware of any fines being issued.
Powell’s POV: The consensus among the people I’ve spoken with about this issue is that there is more heat on Shelley, who is more vocal with his frustrations. “He’s a talented guy who wants to be the star and grumbles loudly,” said one of his co-workers. The fine rumor is certainly making the rounds and it’s being attributed to their refusal to blade. However, if the duo was fined, it was likley due to a variety of issues and the blade job refusal was the straw that broke the camel's back in the eyes of management.
Sabin and Shelley normally aren’t opposed to the idea blading as far as I know. Rather, they didn’t think it was necessary in this specific angle and they may have rebelled because they felt like management was punishing them by calling for Team 3D dominate them so thoroughly. Observers note that the reason Lethal was put over so strong during the pay-per-view match while Sabin and Shelley essentially disappeared is attributable to this situation.
