4/24 ROH in Dayton, Oh.: Jerry Lynn vs. Roderick Strong for the ROH Title, Colt Cabana vs. Chris Hero, Eddie Edwards vs. Bryan Danielson, Tyler Black vs. Davey Richards

ROH in Dayton, Oh.
By Dot Net reader Kevin McCoy
1. Bryan Danielson defeated Eddie Edwards. Interesting opener. Danielson wins on a reversal of a small package. Good match, but not a good opener. Very slow paced.
2. Claudio Castagnoli defeated "Skull Crusher" Racsche Brown, Silas Young, and M-Dogg20 Matt Cross in a four-corner survival match. Claudio wins via submission of Silas Young in 6 minutes. Nothing exciting during the match. Young turned heel, it appeared, by slapping Cross after the match.
3. Jimmy Rave beat Grizzly Redwood. Rave gets huge welcome back cheer. Not much more than a squash. Redwood gets some offense in, but Rave gets the pin in less than three minutes. The Embassy accompanied Rave, and attacked Redwood after the match.
4. Austin Aries and Rhett Titus defeated The Phoenix Twins. Aries cuts a very promo before the match. Crowd all over the heels. Aries get the win with a brainbuster suplex. Good heel work by Aries and Titus. Run of the mill tag match.
5. Colt Cabana over Chris Hero. Great promo by Cabana to start the match. Great decision Vince. Let this guy go, and keep the Khali kiss cam. Great comedy stuff from Colt in this match, with Hero not wanting anything to do with the style. I think Hero hit a senton splash on concrete, but I couldn't really see. Colt wins with a reverse Boston crab at 12 minutes.
Intermission
Note: Davey Richards is walking all over the arena during the event, in street clothes.
6. Jimmy Jacobs beat Egotistico Fantastico. Jacobs was wearing an eye patch. Jacobs wins with a guillitine submission at 10 minutes.
7. Davey Richards defeated Tyler Black. Davey finally put ring gear on. Richards won with a schoolboy. Very entertaining over 10 minute match.
8. Kevin Steen and Jay Briscoe beat Dark City Fight Club. Steen won with a school boy after a sneak tag. Nothing special. Steen not as funny as usual. Around 10 minutes.
9. Jerry Lynn defeated Roderick Strong to retain the ROH Title. Lynn retains the belt with two pile drivers. Both guys left it all. Strong is due for a trip to the ER for sutures.
A great show as a whole. Look for a September 18 return to Dayton.
