Pre-show
1. Heartbreak Express defeated Brett Thunder and Robbie Red. HBX were really over, they got the win with a sitdown powerbomb followed by a legdrop.
2. Brandon Marino defeated Chris Escobar. Escobar was decent but I can really see a future specifically in TNA/ROH for Marino. He has a lot of hard kicks and flashy moves. Marino got the win with Kofi Kingston's finisher.
3. Chasyn Rance and Sal Rinauro defeated Ninja Brown and Bobby Dempsey. YRR was their usual awesomeness, ninja brown was beyond horrible and dempsey was dempsey, he's over i can tell you that much.
Main Show
1. Jerry Lynn defeated Shawn Osborne. Osborne was decent at getting heat but overall he's a very basic wrestler with a decent look. Lynn was over. Decent match that saw Lynn get the win with the cradle piledriver.
2. Kenny King and Rhett Titus defeat The British Lions. The Lions were basically two guys from the UK trying to be the British Bulldogs 2009. Decent team that i can see getting a lot better down the road. King was over huge and I said this once and I'll say it again, King is Shelton Benjamin with charisma, I can see big things from him no matter what company he's in. They got the win with a springboard blockbuster/powerbomb.
An HDNet cameraman was there.
3. Bison Smith defeated a Jobber. I guess they are trying to fill the void left by Samoe Joe and Takeshi Morishima, I didn't get to see much of Bison but from what I saw he's impressive. He hit a press slam into the turnbuckle followed by a claw chokeslam.
4. Kevin Steen defeated Davey Richards. To this point, this was the match of the night, it was so good I couldn't help but be disappointed when it ended in a small package, Richards is really coming into his own as a heel.
5. Tyler Black and The Necro Butcher defeated Jimmy Jacobs and Delirious via DQ. Started off really slow but got real good at the end with high spot after highspot. The ref called for the bell when Jacobs used a chair.
~INTERMISSION~
6. Austin Aries defeated Brad Attitude. Brad was the best of the new guys I saw tonight. He's basic, but he pulls out a highspot when its needed. A decent match that saw Aries get the win with a brainbuster.
7. Roderick Strong, Erick Stevens, and Brent Albright defeated The Dark City Fight Club and Francisco Ciatso. Tremendously stiff match. Everyone played their roles to perfection. At one point, Strong went running to hit a move on Ciatso on the outside and ate a huge shoulderblock/pounce from Davis that sent him into the guardrail. This became the new best match of the night.
8. El Generico defeated Bryan Danielson. These two gave the crowd a awesome comedy segment in the beginning. Everyone loved it. The match itself was pretty good, but I left feeling disappointed, as you expect a lot from these two. I felt they could have done better. It was basically just them hitting all their usual spots until Generico scored the upset win with the turnbuckle brainbuster due to interference by Bison Smith.
Bison destroyed Danielson with a powerbomb. All the ROH students came out, so I guess thats Danielson's next big feud, which seems designed to get Bison over.
9. Nigel McGuinness defeated D-Lo Brown to retain the ROH Title. This was kind of a letdown for me. For some reason I expected a different D-Lo than what we usually get, but it was pretty much the same guy. The live crowd was hot for D-Lo at first and then died down. The match was decent, I guess. If i had to rate it, I'd say ** 1/2.
Notes: Great show. I asked when there coming back and they said they don't know. The most over guys on the show were (in no particular order) Steen, Danielson, Generico, and D-Lo.
