Sep 11, 2009 - 12:31 AM

ROH on HDNet television taping
Philadelphia, Pa. at The Arena
Report by Dot Net reader Tim from Philly

The show started at 7:10 p.m.

Dark Matches

1. Gino defeated Danny Wade. Gino goes over Danny after a school boy with rope assist in five minutes.

The Super Smash Bros. defeated John and Brandon. The Smash Bros. won in five minutes with another roll up.

3. Steenerico over The Stat in a four minute tag squash.

ROH TV tapings

The first taping started at 7:36.

Austin Aries and Kenny King came out for a promo to start. Tyler Black interrupted and after Aries ran down the American Dragon and King rans down Lynn. They set up Kingston vs King for later.

1. Delirious defeated Sonjay Dutt, Joey Ryan, and Necro Butcher in a four-way.
The finish came roughly 7:30 into the match.

2. Brent Albright over D-Lo Brown. Albright won with the armbar submission at nine minutes.

3. Kenny King defeated Eddie Kingston. This was the first television main event. King wons in 11 minutes after Chris Hero provided a distraction with his burning hammer variation.

The following was taped for the second show.

4. The Young bucks fought The Briscoes to a no-contest. The Dark City Fight Club ran in after a 10-minute classic match between the Briscoes and Bucks. The Bucks got over with the crowd after a strong showing against the Briscoes despite the non-finish.

5. Rhett Titus defeated Alex Payne. Titus won with a roll up and handful of tights at 4:30. Not much worth mentioning here.

6. Claudio Castagnoli defeated Grizzly Redwood. Claudio executed a no-hand airplane spin(!!!), followed by one the sickest European uppercuts ever. He finished off Grizzly with the cross-arm powerbomb in 3:45. It was very European!

7. Colt Cabana defeated Nigel McGuiness. Colt won after 12 minutes with a verte-back-breaker. Okay match where Nigel worked over Colt's arm until he pulled off the upset. Nigel got a decent sendoff from the Philly fans. This was his secnd to last show in The Arena.

The following was taped for the third show.

An Aries promo started us off. He ran down Tyler for not being on the same level as him and the other champs. This brought out Tyler to let him select the next opponent via Austin's lucky lottery. Tyler selected a name, unfolded it, and Airies ignited it in Tyler'ss face. Officials came out to help Tyler to the back

8. Kevin Steen and El Generico defeated Super Smash Brothers. SteenErico won in 7:30. A really strong tag match that got the Smash Bros. over big. At one point, they hit a combo Alabama slam/backstabber on Generico. The finish saw Steen hit the package piledriver, which drove player Dos into a Juvi driver from Generico for the win.

9. Chris F'n Hero defeated Bobby Dempsey. Hero scored the decisive win after two back to back roaring elbows in 4:00. Kingston came out to confront Hero post match.

10. The American Wolves defeated Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong. A huge "Thank you, Dragon" chant before the match got underway. The Wolves won with a submission victory at 16:00. Eddie Edwards forced Roderick to tap with a single leg after Davey Richards eliminated Dragon from the finish. Danielson hyped his match in Philly for Saturday night before leaving the arena to "The Final Coutndown."
