A Ring of Honor wrestler says he was insulted by a TNA Victory Road pay-per-view match
Jul 25, 2009 - 10:59 AM

Ring of Honor wrestler Claudio Castagnoli wrote that he was insulted by the Jenna Morasca vs. Sharmell match that aired on the TNA Victory Road pay-per-view. "Sharmell, I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt here," Castagnoli wrote. "Not that she looked particularly good in this match, but how could she?

"Now what was so insulting? Well the fact that this chick that’s from a reality show that needs absolutely no talent can get a job in the wrestling business and being featured on PPV making a mockery out of the sport I love! Starting at the horrible entrance to the horrible slap right before (Awesome) Kong splashed her, you’re a disgrace to the ring. Did you think if you act like a stripper people would not care what you do in the ring?

"Did she even train once? Because if she did I’m sure she’d be able to take a halfway decent bump or maybe run the ropes straight. But no, nothing! How can you be in a sport and not trying to get yourself ready? How insulting is that?" To read the full blog, visit ClaudioCastagnoli.com.

Powell's POV: Good for Claudio. It might not be the best career move to sound off on TNA in this manner, but TNA certainly deserves criticism for putting that match on pay-per-view. As I wrote earlier this week, there were several talented wrestlers who were left off this show, yet they found room for a Survivor winner that wrestling fans don't care about. Bizarre.

This probably isn't the best timing, but TNA should take a serious look at Claudio whenever he's contractually available. He's a well rounded performer with a good look, charisma, mic skills, and very impressive in-ring ability.
