ROH "Take No Prisoners" onsite report: A shares details of the live crowd's reaction to the Ring of Honor pay-per-view that debuts tonight
Jun 12, 2009 - 03:15 PM

Dot Net reader Max D. attended the ROH "Take No Prisoners" taping in Houston, Tex. back in April and filed the following report.

The crowd at the PPV was indicative of how vocal most crowds in Texas are. We have some of the most passionate fans in the country, not to mention some of the best hecklers. The crowd that day was almost more entertaining than some of the matches.

I don't know how they handled some of the audio, but the four-way title defense left a lot of people confused. They had announced it initially as an ELIMINATION match. So, when it ended after one pinfall, everyone started going "what the f---?"

A lot of people were annoyed that Blue Demon Jr. was on the card and yet did nothing, really. If you bill a champion as being a part of a card, give the guy something to do.

At least they cut out the Bushwhacker Luke match. That was awful.

The crowd in attendance was largely just happy to have ROH in the state, so I think they were willing to forgive the card. Even live, in some instances, it felt like ROH didn't know what the hell they were doing.

Also, I don't know if it was audible, but people were heckling the shit out of Todd Sinclair.

A hell of a main event though.

Powell's POV: My review of the show is already available on the main page. The show debuts tonight on various cable systems and Dish Network at 9:00 p.m. CT. This is reportedly the last pay-per-view ROH has scheduled.
