Ring of Honor issued a press release to hype Thursday’s replay of the “Rising Above” pay-per-view, which is running head-to-head with TNA Impact. Here’s a portion of the press release.
How does ROH compare to TNA? Find out when they go head-to-head on TV this Thursday. Check out ROH "Rising Above" with the main event pitting Nigel McGuinness vs. Austin Aries that fans and critics are calling a match of the year candidate. Hey, you can always catch a replay of TNA Impact! Saturday at 11pm on Spike TV.
ROH "Rising Above" will also air this Sunday in the traditional wrestling pay-per-view timeslot of 8pm on iN DEMAND. Check out Impact! on Thursday and then watch ROH "Rising Above" this Sunday when you are used to watching your wrestling PPVs. Then compare the two products and judge for yourself.
ROH "Rising Above" is available for the low, affordable price of $9.95 on The DISH Network and $14.95 on iN DEMAND. You can also catch the PPV on The DISH Network's All Day Ticket this Saturday.
You can sample ROH "Rising Above" for FREE at ROHVideos.com.
Powell’s POV: The press release goes on to note some of the notable events and performers from Impact and then lists the ROH pay-per-view lineup. As I’ve noted, the Nigel McGuiness vs. Austin Aries main event set the early standard for match of the year.
The press release wasn’t anti-TNA, but idea of pitting the two companies in a head-to-head battle is a good way to draw some attention to the pay-per-view replays. You can check out my review of “Rising Above” by clicking here.
