Jerry Lynn sees himself in Mickey Rourke's character in "The Wrestler," says he's in pain every day
Dec 25, 2008 - 10:25 AM |
Jerry Lynn told the Village Voice that he identifies with the main character in The Wrestler. "When I saw the trailer I nearly fell out of my chair..." Lynn said. "I'm in pain everyday, especially when it's cold or going to rain."
Meanwhile, Ring of Honor owner Cary Silkin also commented on the similarities between Lynn and the Randy "The Ram" Robinson character. "Jerry Lynn is the real life Randy Robinson, but without all the drugs," Silkin said. To read the full story, visit VillageVoice.com.
Powell's POV: Interesting article with a nice plug for ROH's "Final Battle 2008" show. The movie hasn't opened in my area yet, but I can definitely see the similarities with Lynn and Mickey Rourke's character given everything I've read about the film.
By the way, if the movie is successful at the box office and ROH (or any company) can make their fans see the similarities between Lynn and Robinson, this could lead to a strong push for the deserving Lynn. This would be a good time for TNA officials to bury the hatchet with him and feature him as the pioneer of the X Division.
