Update on Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley appearing for ROH
Feb 22, 2008 - 04:47 PM

ROH advertising Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley caused some commotion and a lot of speculation on Thursday. However, WrestlingObserver.com notes that TNA never banned its wrestlers from appearing for other companies. Rather, there is a contract in place that prevents ROH from featuring the duo on national broadcasts and in DVDs released commercially. However, ROH will be allowed to show their matches on DVDs sold via the company’s website and at live events.

Powell’s POV: I was mistaken yesterday when I stated that TNA has not been allowed its contracted wrestlers to appear on ROH events. Rather, based on the Observer report, it would seem that ROH made the decision not to book TNA talent once the company moved to pay-per-view. If that’s the case, I’m surprised they don’t bring in TNA talent more frequently. I know they want to focus on their own roster, but I also believe special appearances like Sabin and Shelley’s would lead to increased DVD sales. For instance, Samoa Joe returning to ROH for a big show would be huge.
