Gabe Sapolsky ready for TNA battle in New York

ROH booker Gabe Sapolsky posted a lengthy message to ROH fans regarding the company’s sixth anniversary on Saturday. Although he did not mention TNA by name, he admitted that he is well aware of the competition that will take place in New York this weekend. “As if having the anniversary at the Manhattan Center wasn't enough motivation, I have to admit that there is another one,” Sapolsky wrote on the Ring of Honor message board. “We are well aware of some competition in NYC. To paraphrase Jimmy Rollins, we will be the show to beat.
“We will have the best and most newsworthy show in Manhattan and Long Island. NYC will be hot this weekend, Orlando will be a battleground at the end of March. The winners in all this will be the fans as there is nothing like some competition to light a fire under everyone's ass. I'm not saying a late 90s style wrestling war is about to start. I'm just saying that ROH is going to prove why you all feel that ROH is the best product out there today. No one is going to show us up.”
Powell’s POV: This will be a great weekend for wrestling in New York. As chaotic as the TNA television product can be at times, the creative team doesn’t have much, if anything, to do with the house shows. TNA has a strong roster—which includes several ROH alums—that is quite capable of delivering strong house show events. However, Sapolsky sounds very confident about his weekend events. He has a much better track record of backing up his hype than TNA does. I don’t know if there will be any way to compare the two company’s shows, but they will both be out to deliver their best work this weekend.
