ROH News: ROH forces talent to shut down outside t-shirt sales

ROH has forced several wrestlers under contract to remove their shirts from direct sales via ProWrestlingTees. According to one source, the wrestlers were told to take down their shirts or ROH would stop selling their merchandise on the ROH website and at ROH events.

Shore's Slant: I am of two minds on this. On the one side, I can understand why ROH would want to control what their talent under contract does as it relates to merchandising. They took a lot of heat for the Jay Briscoe incident on Twitter, and I'm sure they want to prevent a similar incident happening with a bad t-shirt design.

On the other hand, if this wasn't written in the contracts well then they should have drawn up better contracts. This is especially true when you consider that a contract with ROH is anything but full time employment income. These guys should be allowed to make their money however they cane, especially if it isn't prohibited by their contract.

UPDATE: A reader, emailed to say the wrestlers shirt sales were at ProWrestlingTees.com (which is owned by One Hour Tees), not the One Hour Tees sight, which will continue to produce t-shirts for their wrestler customers to sale during indy events. I have made the change above.
