Shannon came on to promote "The Hardy Show," which is billed as the greatest show not on TV. He gave some background on the show which is available for viewing via different levels of membership fees at TheHardShow.com
Shannon talked about how much fun he had as a member 3 Count in WCW. He said during that time in wrestling everyone was having a good time. He pointed out that on a weekly basis everyone from top to bottom on the roster was getting TV time. Even if WWE at the time, everyone "from Crash Holly to Steve Austin" was on TV. He said the business has changed since then.
Moore talked about a lack of different characters in today's wrestling product. There is a need for outlandish different characters. People need to be able to watch wrestling, see different characters, and get away from their everyday lives. Another thing he touched on was the demographic that WWE targets. Shannon thinks you need to entertain all different demographics, not just one. There's nothing wrong with having things on the program for kids, but also have "half naked women for all the perverts watching." If something is on TV that's not for kids, parents should send them out of the room.
Moore also talked about TNA and what they're doing these days. He thinks TNA is doing the right thing by pushing young guys who they'll be able to rely on for the next 10-15 years, not relying so much on just a handful of established names. He thinks in time TNA will be able to compete with WWE the way WCW did a few years ago. When asked if he's surprised to still see guys like Sting and Scott Steiner wrestling, he says no because it's still good to have established names in the company.
The guys asked Shannon how Jeff Hardy is doing. Shannon says Jeff is doing really well, he's keeping his head up and knows that everything is going to be all right. Shannon echoed the sentiments previously expressed by both Jeff and Matt Hardy that this was something that was blown out of proportion that the media ran with. When the smoke clears, everyone will see that was completely exaggerated. When asked about Jeff leaving at the height of his popularity in WWE, Shannon says Jeff has much more to him than wrestling and has a lot to offer. Hopefully, when and if Jeff's reality show comes to fruition, everyone will be able to see the many different things Jeff Hardy has to offer.
Before they let him go Moore talked about his first action figure. He said he always had a crush on Barbie, so when he got his first action figure he laid it down in the bed next to her. Yes, he really said that. Priceless!
He once again plugged TheHardyShow.com as well as his tattoo parlor in North Carolina called Gas Chamber Ink.
Powell's POV: The Hardy camp has made it clear that they don't care for the media, but it's silly to imply that we made a bigger story out of Jeff's arrest than it actually was. We simply reported the facts, including Jeff's response when he was posting on Twitter the day of his arrest. Jeff will get his day in court and will have a chance to tell his side of the story, but it's unfair to point the finger at the media over the coverage of this story that I've read so far regardless of how the situation plays out.
