Tito Santana came on first and right of the shoot we talked about Tito's new book and his training by Hiro Matsuda. Hiro was a tough trainer and is famous for breaking Hulk Hogan's leg during his first training session. Tito said that the tough training weeded out the guys who weren't tough enough. Tito compared it to today's path to wrestling and Tito is a bit critical of the easy path muscle bound guys into the business.
Tito talks about tag team wrestling and why it's not relevant anymore. He thinks it's a lost art of wrestling. He said to become a better tag team wrestler you have to learn from established teams and work as a team longer. He told a story about how Mr. Fuji taught him timing in wrestling.
Tito talks about wrestlers at independent shows and seeing that the wrestlers all mimic what they see in the WWE and he feels it's not the way to learn wrestling.
Tito talks about who he thinks will be the next great wrestler. He talks about Randy Orton and Ted Dibiase Jr. and Jimmy Snuka Jr. (Deuce.) He's critical of Batista and said he talked with Shawn Michaels about Batista, and Tito thinks if Batista keeps working hard he will "get it" eventually.
In Tito's book he talks about helping Randy Savage with his in-ring style in the WWE, we ask him about his interest in possibly working for the WWE nurturing the young talents. Tito really has no interest in going back to WWE since he is working as a teacher. He talks about working with Savage and his evolution of his style. He talks about Savage scripting his matches in his early career on paper and he eventually got rid of that practice.
We next ask him about the Montreal Screw Job and since he was at the Spanish announcer table that night, what he saw. Tito said when he became an announcer he was enlightened and He realized that at that time in the WWF that talent was gotten over by the TV and production room. He talks about what led up to the incident. Tito said Bret Hart wasn't drawing as a champion and it took a long time to finally get him over and then Vince McMahon let him go when it was getting hot. Tito said about Bret: "He was a descent worker but I would not say he was one of the best."
Tito talks about being Andy Warhol's favorite wrestler and all the celebrities he met at all the WrestleMania PPVs. He talks about being the first match on the very first WrestleMania.
Next up was TNA's Eric Young. Eric starts off talking about coming back to Rochester and the last time he was here his mom was in the audience. Eric talks about the support of his family. Eric talks about starting his wrestling career in the western NY and South Ontario area.
We ask Eric about some news on local wrestler Cody Deaner joining TNA and Eric confirmed the signing. Another local guy Derek Wylde is retiring soon and Eric talks about his experiences with Derek and how their careers crossed paths.
Eric likes to do the comedic wrestling and he finds it comes very easy to him. Sometimes too easy. He enjoys that aspect of his career. He talks about how Super Eric came about and it goes back to his time in Team Canada. Eric talks about how he feels wrestling in a mask.
Eric talks about wrestling on the road with TNA. Though he didn't get to go to the UK last week.
Eric talks about his favorite angle in TNA and wrestling Robert Roode for over a year. He talks about beating Traci Brooks in a bikini match. He talks about his match this night with Danny Doring
Eric assures us that he will be doing something on Victory Road PPV next weekend. He should be on TNA's Spin Cycle soon.
Eric talks about being a baby face versus being a heel. He finds being a baby face harder than being a heel. He enjoys being over as a face and it doesn't take much to get the fans support. He talks about going to Jeff Jarrett's house for the 4th of July next week.
Eric talks about his wrestling ability and how on TNA shows he has to be TNA's Eric Young but on other shows he really gets to show the people that he can go with any guy on the Indy circuit.
Eric talks about TNA benefiting with another Title, maybe a TV title. The undercard would benefit from it. Eric talks about the new TNA Impact video game and how he is a major part of the storyline in the game.
We let him go soon after!
