Dot Net Water Cooler: Twilling and Shore discuss Undertaker's banishment, Million Dollar Mania, and the upcoming WWE draft
Jun 9, 2008 - 05:58 PM

Dot Net TV reporters Rich Twilling and Chris Shore meet up at the water cooler and discuss the hot topics in professional wrestling.

Today’s topics: Undertaker, the million dollar giveaway, and the draft.

Rich: Obviously Undertaker is not going to retire. However, I like that WWE surprised everyone by giving Edge the win at One Night Stand. Usually with stipulations like these, the result is obvious.

Chris: Yeah, it was a total surprise for me. Nice swerve by Vince McMahon. I guess Taker stays on Smackdown, though, as he won’t be drafted seeing as how he’s “banned from the WWE.”

Rich: I made reference that it could have happened but I am surprised they actually went through with it. Yeah, he will not be drafted. I do not see him going to Raw because Triple H would have to go to Smackdown and we know he is not doing that.

Chris: You’re dead on there. Triple H will never leave the flagship as long as he’s nailing the boss’s daughter. I have Taker pegged to return July 11, the date of Edge and Vickie’s “wedding.” I see Chavo Guerrero playing some part in causing it to happen based upon his response to Edge’s comments last week on Smackdown.

Rich: I rarely enjoy wrestling weddings. I think Chavo looked more baffled and rattled than pissed last week. I suppose he could be in line for a face turn, but I think it will be down the road a bit. I also think Vickie will turn with him. Taker coming back during the wedding makes sense, but if he is really taking time off to heal, it would not be wise to bring him back so quickly.

Chris: It is five weeks away. Of course I have no idea how badly Taker is hurt so 5 weeks may be nothing. Guess we will wait and see. So, did you register for the Million Dollar Mania?

Rich: True, but for these guys five weeks is nothing. However, I would not be surprised at all if you were right and he returned that night. I have registered for the money giveaway everyday but two. I tried to today but the site is running slowly.

Chris: Wait. What? You have to register everyday? Ah crap, looks like I’m not winning. Oh well, at least I have a good job (wink, wink). How long do you think Vince runs this thing and do you think it will work to bring in long lasting viewers?

Rich: You can register once a day until sometime tonight. I still do not know the details. Lance Storm wrote about the giveaway and he said something about the money being given out in increments. Jason Powell said there would be eight winners tonight. I could see Vince doing this for a few weeks.

Chris: It will be fun to watch no matter how long it goes on. I’m interested in seeing how they show winners. Will it be a live call or will they show them next week. I can’t wait to fire up Google News tomorrow and read what the mainstream press has to say.

Rich: Well, I am guessing since he is calling them tonight, the best they will do is get some footage of the good looking winners to show next week or in the future. I am also guessing they will edit the calls first. Could you imagine someone yelling, “F--- YEAH!!!”? Now that would be funny. Hopefully mainstream press equates to more viewers!

Chris: I would lie on the floor if that happened. He is timing everything well. This week is the first giveaway, next week we meet the first winners, and the week after that is the draft. Tonight we get a few viewers to see if it really happens, next week we announce winners so everybody knows it happens, the week after that, “Hello new viewers, let’s make a little drama to hook you.” Bravo Vince, bravo.

Rich: That is definitely a positive way of looking at it. Speaking of the draft, they have to move some big names. Who do you see moving or who would you like to see? Umaga doesn’t count!

Chris: I want to see MVP vs. Triple H, Chris Jericho vs. Edge, Big Show vs.Taker, and Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool. However that happens is fine with me. As far as who will move? My only guess is MVP will move. I say he was talking to his agent Friday night in the press box and it’s a done deal. You?

Rich: I hope MVP stays, unless he is going to Raw to become the number heel and future WWE Champion. I would have said to put the women together, but with the new title, that will not be happening. I could see Jericho moving and possibly Big Show. I do not have preferences really because I could sit here all day and talk about feuds I would like to see. I just hope they freshen up the entire product.
