WWE wrestlers and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson appearing on FOX tonight, new ROH lineups, footage of Jonny Fairplay wrestling
By Jason Powell Apr 9, 2008 - 08:50 AM

-John Cena, Triple H, Chris Jericho, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be among the celebrities appearing on tonight's "American Idol" on FOX. The show is dubbed "Idols Gives Back" and will also feature appearances the big three presidential candidates. No, Jesse Ventura is not among them. I'll be watching the Minnesota Wild playoff game, so please let me know if Hunter breaks out a song and dance number.

-WWE stock closed at $19.76 on Monday. That's the highest the stock has been since 2001. Apparently, no one who works on Wall Street saw the show on Monday night. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Stephen R.]

-Great Khali is scheduled to make a two-day tour of India next month, according to a story posted on IndiaTelevision.com. He is making the appearance on behalf of Ten Sports, which airs WWE programming in his home country.

-With Austin Aries off this weekend shows due to a head injury, ROH has released the following revamped lineup for Friday's show in Boston: Nigel McGuiness vs. the winner of a four-corner survival match, Roderick Strong vs. Rocky Romero vs. Erick Stevens vs. El Generico in a four-way match for the title shot, Necro Butcher vs. Kevin Steen, Kota Ibushi vs. Davey Richards, The Briscoes vs. Jack Evans and Ruckus, Claudo Castagnoli and Delirious and Pelle Primeau vs. Brent Albright and Chris Hero and Larry Sweeney in a six-man elimination match, and Jigsaw vs. Eddie Edwards.

-ROH's Saturday show in Edison features the following card: Nigel McGuinness vs. Kevin Steen for the ROH Title, Davey Richards and Rocky Romero vs. The Briscoes for the ROH Tag Titles, Kota Ibushi vs. Claudio Castagnoli, Roderick STrong vs. Necro Butcher in a no DQ match, Delirious vs. Brent Albright, Jack Evans vs. El Generico, Erick Stevens and Pelle Primeau vs. Chris Hero and Bobby Dempsey, Jigsaw vs. Edie Edwards vs. Mitch Franklin. Plus, Tammy Sytch will sign autographs at the show. Visit ROHwrestling.com for more details on both shows.

Poll results: 55 percent of Dot Net voters watched all or most of Raw rather than the NCAA basketball game on Monday. Only 26 percent said they watched all or most of the game. 14 percent of the voters said they watched something other than Raw or basketball. And only six percent of the voters said they flipped evenly. I was covering Raw live on Monday and wished I could have been watching anything else when someone other than Shawn Michaels or Batista weren't on camera. Dot Net reader Andre Polizzi of San Jose reminded me that West Coast viewers were able to watch both hoops and Raw.

Daily Nuggets

-Author Irvin Muchnick reports that there's support for WWE's Chris Benoit timeline, yet he notes that there are still some unanswered questions. To read his latest blog post, visit Muchnick.net.

--Idiot vandals spray painted "DX" on the side of a church in Indianapolis over the weekend. Check out WTHR.com.

-XPW announced that Vic Grimes will not be able to appear on their reunion show on May 24 in Redondo Beach, Calif.

-Highlights from Jonny Fairplay's tag team match against fellow "Survivor" alumnus Billy Garcia Saturday are online at YouTube. I'm sure it's a five star classic. A press release noted that the event raised $8,000 for the Spotswood High School special stars program for handicapped children. There are plans for a "Reality Rumble 2" in Penn Laird, Va., and a "Reality Rumble 3" in New York in November.

-The AWA show will not air on ESPN Classic tonight due to golf coverage. The show is slated to return tomorrow night in its usual time slot.
