Reality show featuring Ric Flair starts tonight, Smackdown tapings, boxer vs. wrestler footage available
By Jason Powell Apr 8, 2008 - 08:50 AM

-The "Secret Talents of the Stars" reality show that features Ric Flair starts tonight on CBS at 9:00 p.m. (CT). It's running head-to-head with ECW on Sci-Fi, plus it's airing on a Viacom network, which might explain why WWE hasn't bothered to promote the show. I'm not sure if Naitch appears tonight or not, but he wasn't featured in any of the CBS advertising I saw last night. In case you missed it, Flair's secret talent is salsa dancing. He will be going head-to-head with a former Cosby kid in the first round. You can check out the brackets for this show I would never watch in a million years if it wasn't for Flair by clicking here.

-WWE Smackdown and ECW tapings take place tonight in Boston, Mass. As always, I'm looking for a report on the tapings. If you attend the show, please send a report to dotnetjason@gmail.com. Same goes for tonight's Raw house show in Trenton, N.J.

-I won't be watching Naitch on CBS tonight. Well, at least not live, because I'll be covering the ECW show live. Feel free to watch along with me by checking out my "Live Coverage" beginning at 9:00 p.m. With any luck, Naitch will strut his salsa dancing stuff during one of ECW's commercial breaks.

-Today's Poll: Did you watch Raw or the classic NCAA college basketball game last night? You can vote by clicking here. I flipped channels, but obviously I watched much more of Raw. I was able to watch the closing minutes of regulation and the overtime. Wow. Special thanks to the Jayhawks for helping me finish second in the 82-entry bracket pool I entered. I was only one point out of first, but I'm not a hardcore hoops fan, so I'm not complaining.

-Poll Results: 39 percent of Dot Net poll voters said they would not vote for Jesse Ventura if he ran for president. 27 percent said they would vote for "The Body" because they think he would be the best person for the job. 18 percent of the voters said he lost them with his 9/11 conspiracy theories. 16 percent said they would vote for him just to send a message, but would think twice about their vote if they really thought he could win. I'm not a very politically minded person, so I'll just keep it short by saying there is absolutely, positively, no f'ing way I would vote for Jesse if he were running for president.

Daily Nuggets

-Irvin Muchnick is scheduled to appear on WOC radio in Davenport, Iowa at 8:35 p.m. CT tonight to discuss the latest developments in the Benoit family tragedy.

-Ads in the UK and Ireland for "WWE: The Music Volume 8" list Chris Jericho as the "reigning World Champion," according to Dot Net Reader Dean 0.

-Professional boxer Larry Barnes defeated Larry Sweeney at 1:04 of the fourth round of the boxer vs. wrestler match that took place on Saturday in New Rochelle, N.Y. Celebrity judges Pete Gas and Sam Roberts from Opie and Anthony got involved in the fight. You can check out footage of the NYSWF match at YouTube.

-Still no luck on the AWA match listings via ESPN.com. Almost every other show listed on ESPN Classic has updated programming info, but they haven't gotten around to updating the AWA show. I'll keep checking, though.
