Second-generation wrestler debuting on Smackdown, Matt Hardy returning, Jesse Ventura's 9/11 conspiracy theories, Rock poll results
Apr 4, 2008 - 08:45 AM

-It's finally Friday. WWE.com is advertising Matt Hardy's return for tonight's Smackdown. Nattie Neidhart makes her first appearance on tonight's show. It is said to be a newsworthy broadcast in the sense that it sets up a number of WWE Backlash pay-per-view matches. Feel free to watch the show with me by checking out my "Live Coverage" during the show. Likewise, check back on Saturday for the weekly WWE Smackdown Hitlist.

-It's a quiet weekend for WWE talent. After working a crazy schedule during WrestleMania week, both the Raw and Smackdown crews have a well earned free weekend. Raw will be held Monday night in Albany, N.Y., and the Smackdown/ECW tapings will take place on Tuesday in Boston, Mass.

-TNA has a house show in Spencer, Iowa tonight and tomorrow night in Lincoln, Neb. I can't believe Jeremy Borash hasn't talked the company into running a Minnesota date yet. Come on, J.B.! By the way, if you attend either one of these shows, please send a report to dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-Ring of Honor is also off this weekend. They have events scheduled the next two weekends in Boston, Edison, Detroit, and Chicago.

-Teddy Hart was actually filming a documentary at WrestleMania 24, according to WrestlingObserver.com.

-Jesse Ventura now believes the World Trade Center attacks were controlled demolition. "Never before in the annuls of history has a fire caused a steel structure building to fall to the ground like these two did," Ventura stated during a national radio interview. To read his 9/11 conspiracy theories, visit PrisonerPlanet.com.

-Poll Results: Close vote in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson poll yesterday. I asked Dot Net readers whether Rock should do more to pay back WWE for helping launch his career. 47 percent of the voters said no because he's no longer under contract and shouldn't feel obligated to return. 44 percent of the readers said it yes, it wouldn't kill him to appear whenever WWE he and WWE are in the same area. Nine percent of the voters said they see both sides of the argument (and enjoyed ties in the NHL). I'll have plenty to say about this issue in a blog later this morning. If you feel strongly about the issue, feel free to send in you comments for possible inclusion in a mailbag article.
