Jeff Jarrett praises Kurt Angle, WWE pay-per-view name change note, Rob Van Dam returning to the ring this weekend, WWE Smackdown dark match notes (no spoilers)
By Jason Powell Sep 9, 2009 - 09:05 AM

-Jeff Jarrett praised Kurt Angle in an interview that was picked up by the UK Sun. "He doesn't have a peer in this business for his ability once the bell rings," Jarrett said. "From bell to bell I think he may be the best this business has ever produced." For more on the story, visit the UK Sun.

-Numerous readers have pointed out that WWE has renamed the WWE Armageddon pay-per-view "WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs." The show takes place on Dec. 13 in San Antonio, Tex. For what it's worth, Jeff Hardy is among the advertised names, but don't get too excited since the ads are done well in advance. In fact, although the ad features the new name, the "Armageddon" name is still featured in another part. WWE ads aren't always updated in a timely fashion, as I've warned you many times before. You can check out the ad for the show at ATTCenter.com. [Thanks to Juan Mariscal and several readers]

-For those who have asked, I do not expect every match on the TLC show to be an actual TLC match, nor do I expect there to be multiple Hell in a Cell matches on the pay-per-view names for that gimmick match. I'd be disappointed if WWE spoiled both gimmicks by holding multiple versions of the matches on the same show.

-In a dark match held after the WWE Smackdown taping on Tuesday in Rockford, Ill, Undertaker defeated C.M. Punk by DQ when Punk used a chair as a weapon. [Thanks to Dot Net Member "MattheWWFanatic."

-Rob Van Dam is advertised for the World Stars of Wrestling shows in Portugal this weekend. The show will also feature Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, and Joe E. Legend. For more information on the shows, visit WorldStarsofWrestling.com.

In related news, Van Dam is scheduled to appear on TheRingsideLive.com show on Friday. The show will be posted on their site around 7:00 p.m. ET on Friday.

-Just a reminder that the AWA show is not listed for this week on ESPN Classic. It will return on Monday.
